HUUM rates the DROP 4.5 for sauna rooms from 3–7 m³ (106–248 ft³). Matching the heater output to the room volume is essential for comfort, consistency, and safe operation—especially in compact home saunas where every cubic foot matters.

High stone capacity for smoother steam

The DROP series is known for supporting a large stone load. The DROP 4.5 requires approximately 55 kg / 121 lb of sauna stones, with a recommended stone diameter of 5–10 cm (2–4 in). More stones means more thermal mass—helping produce a gentler, more stable heat profile and a satisfying steam response when water is applied.

Wall-mount design that saves floor space

Because it’s wall-mounted, the heater helps keep your sauna footprint clean and open—ideal for tighter layouts or minimalist interiors. HUUM notes that the combined wall load can be significant once stones are installed, so the mounting surface must be structurally strong.

Electrical planning (240V reference)

For 240V installations, the DROP 4.5 is specified at 18.75A, with a 30A circuit breaker and a minimum 10 AWG wire size. Electrical connection should be completed by a licensed electrician according to local code and HUUM instructions.

Important purchase note (controls panel)

This heater REQUIRES the HUUM UKU Local Control Panel to work. For heaters over 11kW the HUUM UKU Ext Box is also required.
