How Does a Traditional Sauna Work?
Unlike infrared saunas that use light waves, traditional saunas rely on electric heaters to warm the air, which in turn heats your body. This process encourages profuse sweating. The high heat and steam circulation create an environment that mimics a natural hot spring, making it an ideal retreat for relaxation and rejuvenation.

The craftsmanship on the Forssa is really impressive. The Canadian Red Cedar interior panels are beautiful and well finished. The construction feels substantial and built to last decades. Traditional steam performance is excellent. At $6,999 it's a serious purchase but the quality is clearly there.
G
Was torn between the Forssa indoor traditional and a barrel sauna. InHouseWellness walked me through the practical differences - indoor vs outdoor, maintenance considerations, capacity. They helped me realize the Forssa's indoor Canadian Red Cedar setup was better for my climate and usage pattern. Really thoughtful consultation.
U
The Forssa traditional 4-person Canadian Red Cedar is an excellent sauna. Just want to be honest: assembly is a significant project. We had 4 people and it still took most of a Saturday. The result is absolutely worth it. But go in with realistic time expectations. The sauna itself is 5 stars.
E
Traditional steam sauna is a specific experience - high heat, steam from a kiuas, the löyly ritual. The Forssa Edition delivers all of this properly. The Canadian Red Cedar interior holds the steam and heat in a way that creates the right environment. 4-person capacity is real. Golden Designs built this with genuine understanding of what traditional sauna should be.
F
Every Friday evening, 3-4 of us in the Forssa traditional sauna. The Canadian Red Cedar, the steam, the rounds with breaks. It's become the most looked-forward-to part of our week. The kids (teenagers) actually want to participate. Golden Designs built something that creates lasting family ritual.
S
The Forssa Edition 4-person Canadian Red Cedar interior traditional sauna is a long-term investment in wellness and experience. The quality is built to last, the steam experience is authentic, and the Canadian Red Cedar interior gets better with age. At $6,999 it's significant but pays back in health and experience every year.
G
built a dedicated sauna room around the Forssa Edition. Canadian Red Cedar interior, 4-person capacity, traditional steam. It gets used by someone in our family every single day. More than the kitchen, more than the living room. Golden Designs built the product that made this possible. Best home purchase we've made.
O
The Forssa Edition traditional sauna with Canadian Red Cedar interior is as close to an authentic Finnish sauna as I've found for home use. The cedar interior holds heat and humidity beautifully. Four adults fit comfortably for proper steam rounds. At $6,999 it's an investment that delivers the genuine article.
V
Had 4 adults in the Forssa for a proper Finnish sauna night. Not cramped at all - real bench space, good headroom. The Canadian Red Cedar interior held the steam from the stove beautifully and the aroma was incredible. Golden Designs sized and built this properly. A real 4-person traditional sauna.
B
The Forssa's Canadian Red Cedar interior has deepened in aroma and character over 8 months of use. Traditional saunas are meant to be seasoned over years and this one is aging beautifully. The construction quality means it will still be performing in 30 years. Golden Designs built something genuinely enduring.
I
Most traditional saunas use exterior cedar but the Forssa's Canadian Red Cedar interior is what makes it special. The cedar aroma fills the cabin during steam sessions in a way hemlock simply doesn't. The heat absorption and release from the cedar interior creates a more authentic and therapeutic steam experience.
A
the Forssa's Canadian Red Cedar interior transforms every steam session. the cedar absorbs heat and humidity and releases both slowly - the heat in the cabin feels more enveloping than in hemlock interiors i've used. and the aroma is genuinely therapeutic. golden designs made the right call with the cedar interior on this model.

Someone from InHouseWellness called about 3 weeks after delivery to make sure the Forssa was set up correctly and everything was working well. They also offered to help if I had any questions going forward. That follow-up is the kind of thing that makes you feel like a valued customer rather than just a transaction.
H
I grew up with traditional sauna in my family. The Forssa Edition with its Canadian Red Cedar interior captures what makes traditional sauna valuable - the heat, the steam, the ritual, the cedar. Golden Designs clearly did the research. This isn't a wellness trend product. It's the real thing.
K
The Forssa traditional sauna itself is excellent - Canadian Red Cedar interior quality is outstanding, 4-person capacity is genuine, steam performance is authentic. The stove requires hardwired 240V installation which meant an electrician visit. Budget for that. Not a surprise for a traditional stove at this scale, just something to plan.
