What a float tank needs from the room

A tank holds several hundred gallons of heavily salted water, so the floor has to carry the load and the room needs ventilation and a drain plan. Three of the five describe their filtration system, which is the part that determines running cost and maintenance time. Ask about salt volume and changeover schedule before you buy — that is the ongoing commitment, not the purchase price.

Home or commercial

The distinction is not cosmetic. Commercial pods are built for repeated daily cycles and specified accordingly; a home unit is not, and running one commercially will not be covered. Match the unit to the use.

Delivery

A float pod is a freight item and needs clear access. Free shipping to the lower 48, no minimum, and it stops at the curb — the crate is left at the end of your driveway. Getting it inside is a $600 white-glove upgrade. Getting it inside and assembled is $1,800, which covers everything except electrical work: we recommend you hire a local electrician for that, because the wiring has to meet your local code and pass local inspection. Service fees are non-refundable: if the sauna goes back, the installation does not.
