An outdoor sauna takes none of your indoor square footage, which for most buyers is the whole reason to choose one. Thirty-three units here, $4,940 to $26,890, median $7,940.

What is in the range

Thirty state a capacity, from one to six people. On materials: 18 name cedar, 9 spruce and 9 thermo-treated wood, and eight units name more than one because frame, cladding and benches are often different woods. Golden Designs and SaunaLife supply 27 of the 33 between them. Three are hybrids, pairing infrared panels with a stove.

Site work is the real cost

Nineteen units publish a temperature, reaching 190°F. Eleven name a 240V circuit and six a dedicated one, so budget for an electrician on most builds. An outdoor sauna also needs a level, load-bearing base you provide yourself, and clearance for a flue where the unit is wood-fired.

Delivery

These crate heavy. Inspect the crate before you sign, because we are not liable for transit damage and the claim goes to the carrier. Free shipping to the lower 48, no minimum, and it stops at the curb — the crate is left at the end of your driveway. Getting it inside is a $600 white-glove upgrade. Getting it inside and assembled is $1,800, which covers everything except electrical work: we recommend you hire a local electrician for that, because the wiring has to meet your local code and pass local inspection. Service fees are non-refundable: if the sauna goes back, the installation does not.
