One Dreampod float tank accessory in stock: the Anti-Vibration Mat at $230, 10mm silicone rubber. Dreampod's Epsom salt is out of stock with the supplier.
What the mat is for
A float pod holds several hundred gallons and runs a pump. The mat sits underneath to damp vibration, stop the pod creeping on a smooth floor, and protect the surface beneath it. On a suspended floor or above a finished room, it is the difference between a pod you can use in the evening and one everybody in the house can hear.
The consumable nobody budgets for
Salt is the real running cost of a float tank, not electricity. A pod is filled to roughly a 1.25 specific gravity, which takes hundreds of kilos of Epsom salt, and it is topped up and eventually changed. Ask for the salt volume and the changeover schedule on the pod you are considering — see floatation therapy tanks — because that number decides the cost of ownership far more than the purchase price does.
